Football: Stars of yesteryear will play to win in Clash of the Experts
Previous Singapore universal Aleksandar Duric will tick two things off his basin list when the Singapore Experts play against the Munititions stockpile and Liverpool Bosses on Saturday.
The 47-year-old disclosed to The New Paper that it will his first time playing at the National Stadium and for good measure, he will impart the pitch to a portion of the previous EPL stars he grew up appreciating and viewing. Duric resigned from the national group in December 2012, around eighteen months previously the National Stadium opened its entryways.
At the official question and answer session for the Skirmish of the Experts introduced by American Express CapitaCard at Singapore Marriott Tang Court Lodging yesterday, self-admitted Munititions stockpile fan Duric acknowledged one other wish - bringing a photograph with previous Weapons store forward Nwankwo Kanu.
He included: "They played for two of the greatest clubs on the planet. I don't have the chance to travel and watch EPL live, so having the capacity to play against them feels stunning.
"I've watched these folks play numerous years prior and I'm eager to meet them on the field this time."
The three groups will play each other in three 40-minute round-robin recreations, across the board day.
While age may not be in favor of the players, Duric has guaranteed that he and his colleagues including Fandi Ahmad, Rafi Ali and Noh Alam Shah won't be speechless within the sight of their venerated images and will give them a keep running for their cash.
"Once the diversion begins, it won't be too cordial. We as a whole need to win and like how we played football professionally, it's still in our blood to battle and win," said Duric.
"The fans can expect great football and from my experience against Liverpool (at Jalan Besar Stadium) three years back, I can disclose to you that those folks still have it."
This is Liverpool Experts' third trek here in four years, having beaten the Singapore and Manchester Joined Bosses 3-1 and 2-0 of every 2014 and 2015 individually.
Previous Liverpool winger Steve McManaman stated: "It's vital that we score objectives and the group have a good time.
"The Liverpool players are looking fit and they played well a few days ago, so ideally it's the same for Saturday."
