The 2019 Dell XPS 13 is in excess of a minor refresh on the off chance that you look carefully.
What about an injection of Bourbon with that workstation? My XPS 13 9380 accompanies:
Intel Center i7 8565U "Bourbon Lake" processor (quad-center, 15 watts)
4K (3,840-by-2,160) contact show
16GB of LPDDR3 double channel SDRAM (2133 MHz)
Samsung 512GB NVMe strong state drive (PM981).
I've recently begun utilizing the XPS 13 9380. Here are my underlying impressions.
Keyboard*: great material criticism and travel when composing. Similar to HP's magnificent consoles on its EliteBook line.
Show: Notebookcheck says their XPS 9380 4K show uses a board from AUO – not a Sharp board, the last Dell had been utilizing for quite a long time. That is not an inconspicuous change. (Refresh: Dell has affirmed to me that it "multi-sources" the boards and uses both Sharp and AUO boards.) Board splendor is appraised at 400 nits. By correlation, HP EliteBook X360 4K boards are ordinarily evaluated at 500 nits while the 2018 MacBook Air is appraised at 300 nits. Shading exactness and shading extent is great however not at 2018 MacBook Master levels.
Configuration: still a standout amongst the most smaller 13-inch workstations on the planet. Furthermore, this time Dell crushes a webcam into the best bezel. It's more smaller than the 2018 MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Expert, and even the officially minimal HP EliteBook X360 1030 G3.
Materials: The machined skin (on the one I'm utilizing) has an alternate surface contrasted with the past XPS 9370. I favor the new surface on the 9380.
Shading: the new ice white/"platinum silver" shading is perfect. Beats the MacBook and HP silver outsides.
Biometric ID/webcam: no more "Windows Hi" Face ID in light of the fact that the webcam has been moved from the base to the highest point of the presentation, where it has a place. Issue is, there isn't sufficient space for the Windows Hi infrared (IR) cameras in the modest bit of room on the best bezel. Yet, there's unique mark ID, exceptionally pleasantly incorporated into the power catch.

Execution: The XPS 13′s execution has dependably been at the top of the line for a dainty and-light workstation, otherwise known as, ultrabook. Notebookcheck has benchmarks that demonstrate a XPS 9380 standing up well to the challenge with a Whisky Lake Center i5-8265U. My XPS 9380 has the somewhat quicker Bourbon Lake Center i7 8565U. Likewise significant: the Samsung PM981 SSD (in my unit) is one of the quicker strong state drives transporting in workstations today.
Weight: hasn' t changed from 2018 at about 2.7 pounds. That is about indistinguishable load from the 2018 MacBook Air.
Speakers: the 9380 would be for all intents and purposes flawless in the event that it would be wise to speakers. The speakers miss the mark concerning HP's stunning speaker framework on the EliteBook X360 1030 (G3) or the 2018 MacBook Air's strong speakers. Issue: the XPS 9380 needs more bass** to stay aware of the challenge. (I would emphatically recommend that Dell address this on future XPS frameworks.)
Value: begins at $899. Be that as it may, a progressively sensible beginning cost is $1,209 with Center i5, 8GB, 256GB of capacity, and a FHD (1,920-by-1,080) non-contact show. My unit is estimated at about $2,000.
Decision: Dell continues refining the XPS 13 and it continues showing signs of improvement — there's no uncertainty about that. It should be at the exceptionally best of anybody's 13-inch workstation list.
NOTES:
*Keyboard refresh: console is really indistinguishable to 9370 (2018). In a prior rendition of this post, I was contrasting it with a more seasoned XPS 13 show.
**Part of the issue is speaker position — they fire out from the sides of the workstation, not up. In this way, a great deal of the sound goes sideways
